Well we made it in 10 days! Yesterday we drove from Canmore Alberta to Steveston, stopping in Kamploops to visit family (thanks for the food and company Joan and Earl!!). And again in Chillowack for an awesome dessert/coffee/company with Bob and Midori (Thanks!!).
After leaving Winnipeg we drove to Saskatchewan and tried to find a spot in a campground, but being the long weekend and Canada Day, there was nothing available. We ended sleeping in a gravel/dirt pit on the side of the road and watched an awesome lighting storm that flooded a town to the northeast of us, but thankfully we were fine.
Friday, July 2end, we drove to Drumheller Alberta and stayed in our FIRST campground. We actually arrived around dinner time and so were able to have a campfire, roast hotdogs/smores, and play some catch. One of the highlights of the trip was on our way to Alberta. We stopped (in Saskatchewan somewhere) for a pee break. It turned out to be a bird habitat, and had a tower where you could pay to use the high powered binoculars and look at the different birds. Monte, while getting some money out of the van to use in the binoculars, accidently let Wolf out. Wold preceded to chase all the birds, while Monte chased Wolf. He did eventually catch Wolf before she caught any birds, but it was hilarious to watch.
We spent Saturday at Drumheller and visited the huge dinosaur statue, and then went to the Museum. It was awesome, and I would highly recommend it!!. Saturday evening we drove to Canmore, and stayed in another campsite. This one had showers and laundry so we were all able to get clean - felt amazing!
And then Sunday we drove here. So that was our trip. Feels a bit surreal to be here and as Kelly said - Canada feels a lot smaller now :)
I will post a few more posts with just pictures as I can only fit 5 or 6 at a time.
Cheers!
